ABOUT DR. DIMO GOSPODINOV
Dimo Gospodinov is a lawyer, legal scholar, and judicial activist whose work confronts some of the most urgent questions of our time: How do we uphold justice in an era of rapid technological change? What is the role of law in shaping a human-centric digital future? And how can we empower citizens to defend their rights against the growing power of private and public technological systems?

Born in 1987, Gospodinov pursued his legal education at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski,” where he first earned a Master’s degree in Law, followed by a PhD in EU Law. As co-founder and managing partner of the law firm Gospodinov & Genchev (GGlaw), he entered the legal arena to litigate the complex disputes emerging at the intersection of law and technology. In his practice, he leads cases involving the regulation of information technologies, intellectual property, and civil procedure, contributing to landmark precedents of the Supreme Court of Cassation on electronic evidence and copyright in Bulgaria.
His work in the courtroom is informed by his deep engagement with legal theory. As a scholar at Sofia University, Gospodinov explores the theoretical foundations of technology law, teaching and writing on subjects of EU digital regulation and civil procedure. He challenges the legal community to think critically about how traditional legal principles of evidence, liability, and human rights are being tested and transformed by technology. Dimo Gospodinov is the author of the book “Problems of Proving Civil Liability in the EU’s Digital Environment,” as well as numerous other academic articles and studies.
Gospodinov bridges theory and practice through his work as a judicial activist. Believing that law must serve as a tool for systemic change, he has dedicated himself to public interest litigation. He was part of the legal team that led a successful, four-year environmental class-action lawsuit against Sofia Municipality for air pollution — a landmark case demonstrating the power of strategic litigation to hold public institutions accountable. He leads other cases and administrative proceedings that test the justice system’s ability to respond to today’s most pressing societal challenges.
Through his integrated work as a practitioner, scholar, and activist, Dimo Gospodinov seeks to ensure that as our technology advances, our commitment to justice, dignity, and human rights does not retreat, but adapts and grows stronger.
